June 1: "Guvernul copiilor 2" (2024, directed by Ioana Mischie) at Lumiere Pavilions Cinema Beijing

On International Children's Day, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Beijing is organizing a special screening of the film "Guvernul Copiilor 2" (2024, directed by Ioana Mischie) at the Lumiere Pavilions cinema at 7:00 PM. Ioana Mischie's film combines entertainment with profound and educational messages, offering a unique opportunity for young people in China to explore the thoughts, dreams, and aspirations of Romanian children, thereby facilitating a better understanding and appreciation of the cultural similarities and differences between the two peoples.

GUVERNUL COPIILOR 2 is the latest innovative film in its namesake universe, presenting the audience with a world imagined by Romanian children aged 7 to 12 from various social backgrounds who were interviewed about the ideal society they would build if they became leaders. Their visions were expanded and brought to life by a transdisciplinary group of artists, architects, and landscapers, becoming tangible utopias inserted into the film. The result is an innovative documentary focused on children's visionary thinking about the long-term future of society.

The film's team includes exceptional professionals from the film industry such as cinematographers Tudor Lucaciu RSC and Zsolt Magyari, editor Cristian Vieriu, sound designer Irina Bozdog, music mixer Lukas Piel, lead 3D artist Alexandru Pop, and original music composer Sebastian Androne-Nakanishi. For the first time, the film used new technologies like Unreal Engine and machine learning and artificial intelligence software to complete a limited number of visions in the film, making it the first Romanian film to utilize these methodologies.

Ioana Mischie is a lecturer and Ph.D. at the "I.L. Caragiale" National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest, where she teaches in the Animation and Interactivity Department. She is a Romanian filmmaker and screenwriter known for her expertise in transmedia storytelling and augmented realities. In 2017-2018, she received a Fulbright scholarship at USC – School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles, where she researched transmedia storytelling, and her doctoral work was evaluated with Summa cum laude. She has co-authored numerous international transdisciplinary projects, including MIT Hacking Arts and Forward Slash Story. Her films, such as "237 Years" and "Cumulonimbus," have been presented at over 100 international festivals and have won numerous awards. She is also the co-founder of the Storyscapes Association and the Noe-Fi Studios and Omniversity initiatives, promoting an innovative approach to education and the film industry. Ioana is a frequent speaker at international conferences and a leader in educating young Romanian directors and screenwriters. She was selected for this year's Cannes Film Festival competition in a new section dedicated to immersive cinema with the project "Human Violins: Prelude (Multi-Users Version)."
