Important information regarding the B1 language proficiency certificate, required for obtaining citizenship:
According to the information we have at this moment, it seems that the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv will be able to organize and host testing sessions for obtaining the B1 language proficiency certificate, most likely twice a year, on dates that we will publish as soon as we know them.
It is important to note that the test lasts between 3 and 4 hours and contains several parts (understanding of a written text, grammar in context, writing an essay on a given topic) and the oral assessment that takes place online, on zoom, with a teacher from Romania. For each part of the test, it is necessary to obtain a minimum number of 65 points out of 100.
The written part is sealed and sent to Romania for correction.
In order to be able to take the test, it is necessary to pay a fee of EUR 100, paid online.
Please take into consideration that the level of the test is quite a difficult one, so we advise those who wish to take it to prepare thoroughly in advance. Thus, those who do not have solid knowledge of the Romanian language should not take the test because they will not obtain the necessary points (for each of the test) needed to issue the certificate.
Taking this test is in no way conditioned by learning Romanian at the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv.
For those who do not know Romanian, we suggest it is necessary to attend assiduously (a minimum of 16 lessons out of 20) at least* the following levels:
- beginner A1 - 40 hours of classes / 20 lessons;
- pre-intermediate A2.1 - 40 hours of classes / 20 lessons;
- pre-intermediate A2.2 - 40 hours of classes / 20 lessons;
- intermediate B1.1 - 40 hours of classes / 20 lessons.
* The individual progress of each person studying Romanian depends on a multitude of factors. Therefore, we cannot guarantee in any way that by following these courses you will be able to successfully pass the test and obtain the diploma.
