Concert for Romania's National Day "From Classical to Contemporary" by the Violoncellissimo ensemble, conducted by Marin Cazacu, at the National Opera House of China

ICR Beijing and the Embassy of Romania in China organize the concert From Classical to Contemporary by the Romanian ensemble Violoncellissimo, conducted by the renowned cellist Marin Cazacu, at the National Opera House of China, one of the most important concert halls in Beijing, on December 5, 2024, at 8:00 PM.

The event is intended to mark a double anniversary: Romania's National Day and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Romania and China.

Violoncellissimo is one of the most famous Romanian chamber ensembles of the last 15 years, consisting of the best young cellists in the country, formed at the initiative of the renowned cellist Marin Cazacu. Together with his current and former students, Cazacu has opened a new path in promoting Romanian music and young talents.

Marin Cazacu is the general director of the George Enescu Philharmonic and a professor of cello at the National University of Music in Bucharest. Over the years, Maestro Cazacu has performed with Ghennadi Rojdestvenski, Sergiu Comissiona, Horia Andreescu, Antoni Ros Marba, Vladimir Orlov, Radu Aldulescu, and Jeremy Menuhin. He has also had multiple appearances at international festivals such as those in Berlin, Hong Kong, Macao, Munich, Milan, Osaka, Seoul, and Tokyo. Furthermore, since 2008, he is the founder of Romania's National Youth Orchestras, the largest educational project in the country dedicated to training orchestral musicians.

The duration of the concert will be 90 minutes.

The repertoire will be diverse and spectacular, From Classical to Contemporary.
