THE END OF THE EARTHI wrote in my other books about the popular beliefs regarding the future ending of the world and, consequently, of humankind as well as of the Earth we are living on. It goes without saying that the stories about the destruction of the Earth are scarce in number.The humans will grow more and more wicked and God will grow angrier and angrier. When the earth turns 2000 years and something (it is not certain how many years over 2000), God will destroy the Earth at a time decided by Saint Peter and Virgin Mary's prayers or by Our Guardian Angels' prayers who feel sorry for children younger than 7 years old. These 2000 years begin flowing from Jesus's birth.The final confrontation, the drought and the famine cannot harm the Earth in any way. Fire shall parch the surface of the Earth to scour the humans off and their foulness hidden in the ground and the scorch shall cover the Earth.Fire shall fall from the sky, as a fire rain; some think it will pour down on February; others say the fire burns from the saints' blood who populate Heaven with their living bodies: Ehno, Ilie (Elijah), Mina. It is said that the life of these saints will be taken by the Antichrist so that they "should be dead, too." Another source for the fire rain is the blood of Saint Ilie, murdered by the Antichrist or by the Jews. Some say that the fire might start from the blood of an ox fed with Jews, or from the blood of Saint Michael killed by the Devil or from Abel's killed by his brother, Cain. The large canyon on the Moon will be filled with his blood and a drop will trickle down on Earth. Others add that 9 dragons shall bring the fire from the sky or a rainbow when there shall be no water left on Earth.Still, this fire cannot destroy the Earth for good; water shall drown it then.
