While oftentimes for our showtwo little girls tune in, hence...they strain their ears in diligence, those flax-haired siblings – this I know. E'en Mr. Bunny, a friend preferredpending their play, has pricked his handles:on radio all the three have heard –that wonderfully singing Mr. Bojangles... And of a lass he sang ought timewho wished she could have gone to school! But – aye – her skin was inky tanand coloreds were not seen as rule...! Thus in their big distress they wonderedwith eyes that flared as wounded deers':"That lass – is she so distant' quartered? What if – he were to send'er here?" ...At present, they can boast a dollas black as coal, the straw-haired sisters:they guess the cause for their affection –is... that she be his girl, damnation! They take the puppet by the handand well-advise her on their way:"To school we're off... the wrong to mend!Don't fret... we're going all – hurray...! We have a pleasant Mr. Bunnyand Little Bear is learning, tooat school, our friend – but see that youdon't please yourself with marks too funny..." from The Story Lad, Tineretului, 1963
