Romanian language courses in Beirut

The Romanian Embassy and the Romanian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with Romania Levant Association and with the generous support of the CLAC Sin El Fil Cultural Center, are proud to inform you that Romanian language courses will restart in the Spring 2014 semester.

Romanian is a Latin language spoken by about 30 million people around the world and it is the official language of Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Being convinced that language learning is a tool for achieving greater understanding and a key element in the intercultural dialogue between Romania and Lebanon, the Romanian Embassy and the Romanian Cultural Institute decided to restart teaching Romanian. This move comes as an answer to the many requests of Lebanese citizens interested to study in Romania, of the business community and of the mixed Romanian-Lebanese families.

The courses will take place in the period of March 17th – May 22nd, every Monday (A1) and Thursday (B1) from 17:00 to 19:00, at the CLAC Sin El Fil Cultural Center. This 12 weeks program is FREE of charge and it is open to all those interested in learning the Romanian language.

This course follows the standards of the European Language Council. The classes aim at providing the students with an opportunity to learn the Romanian language at a basic level and enable them to answer adequately to different public, professional and private aspects of everyday life situations. With respect to this purpose, the course aims at developing both comprehension and expression abilities at the same time, paying equal attention to all four basic skills of communication: listening and speaking, reading and writing. Last but not least, it is also aiming at establishing a first contact with the rich and old Romanian culture and civilization.

For those interested in participating, kindly send an email to rla.lebanon@gmail.com or call 05/924848. The deadline for course registration is March 10th.
