"Cinema café" at RCI Tel Aviv: Interactive online screening of the documentary "Sărmaș '44"

The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv is organizing, on August 27th, 2020, from 18:00 hours, in a new edition of the "Romanian Cafe" online, held via live streaming on the official Facebook page of RCI Tel Aviv - https: //www.facebook.com/icr.telaviv/, an event dedicated to the documentary film about the Sărmașu massacre from September 16/17th, 1944, called Sărmaș '44. The documentary was made by Teodora Drăgoi, journalist and TV producer at the Romanian Television, and historian Adrian Cioflâncă, director of the "Wilhelm Filderman" Center for the Study of the History of Romanian Jews operating within the Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania. The program of the event will include the screening of the film, followed by an online discussion, held in English, with the participation of Teodora Drăgoi and Adrian Cioflâncă.

The Romanian Television offered the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv the broadcast rights for the film Sărmaş '44, for the online screening on August 27, 2020.

Sărmaș '44

A film of death and survival, shocking memories of the murder of 126 Jews. The documentary contains images from the place of the massacre, the testimony of an eyewitness, original photographs taken during the exhumation of victims from Sărmaș, interviews with renowned historians, but also unique documents and archive images.
