Launch of The Romanian Riveter

The Romanian Cultural Institute will be hosting the launch of The Romanian Riveter, the first British literary magazine dedicated to Romanian literature, on Wednesday 30 September.

The event will include presentations, readings and discussions around the featured authors, with Rosie Goldsmith, Vesna Goldsworthy, Susan Curtis, and contributions recorded by authors Ana Blandiana, Matei Vișniec, Ioana Pârvulescu, Fiona Sampson, George Szirtes and Tudor Crețu.

This 8th edition of The Riveter was made possible through a collaboration between the European Literature Network and Timiș County and was launched in Timișoara, at the LitVest International Literature Festival, on 24 September 2020.

The launch of the publication between the two cities of Timișoara and London initiates a première in the history of the two cultures with focus on writings specifically from Timișoara and Timiș County, bringing together poets, prose writers, dramatists, essayists, translators and publishers – Romanian, as well as British familiar with Romania. With a fascinating eye-opening selection of works, the magazine will be accessible in print as well as on digital formats, free of charge, via https://www.eurolitnetwork.com/the-riveter/.

Due to restrictions on the numbers of attendees, the event will be filmed and broadcasted online on Friday 2nd October.
