The  Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv is hosting, between October 14-November 4, 2016, the caricature exhibition "ANDOgraphy, yesterday and today" by the Romanian artist Octavian Andronic. The celebratory exhibition will mark 40 years of activity in the artistic field for the cartoonist and is comprised of works from the artist's various creation periods.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on October 19, at 17:00, during the event "Caricature and literature bridging Romania and Israel".

The exhibition is open to the public Monday - Thursday, between 10:00 - 16:00, at the Romanian Cultural Institute, Tel Aviv, 8 Shaul Hamelech blvd., 6th floor.

With a career spanning over 40 decades, Octavian Andronic is a Romanian caricaturist, journalist and book author, born on May 2nd, 1946, in Sannicolaul Mare, Timis county. Since 1969 till the present day, he has created works that have been featured in major solo and collective exhibitions both in Romania and abroad, as well as in important Romanian publications and newspapers. In the same time, he is the recipient of several prizes at prestigious cartoon contests in Turkey, Cuba, Romania, Macedonia and Italy.

Under the series title "ANDOgrafia zilei", Andronic has created a new style of caricature - the video-cartoon, which is the reconstruction, through computerized technologies, of the creation process of a caricature. The caricature is created, under the eyes of the viewers and without the material participation of the artist, in a dramatic and impressive succession of frames. 

Since 1995, he publishes daily a news cartoon, in several newspapers and magazines in Romania. He is a member of the Romanian Fine Arts Association and a former Honorary Consul of Uruguay in Romania (1992-2009).
