'EUROPALIA Romania' in London: Pianist Daniel Ciobanu

Pianist Daniel Ciobanu is a rising star, having performed alongside piano superstar Lang Lang at the Royal Festival Hall and winning Silver at the Rubinstein Piano Competition 2017, where his dynamic stage presence also won him the Audience Favourite prize.

Ciobanu’s distinctive musical personality and technical command has led to performances with orchestras such as Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Israel Philharmonic and Israel Camerata, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, George Enescu Philharmonic and Romanian National Radio Orchestra.

Known for his theatrical and creative musical personality, yet capable of deep refined meditations, Daniel proposes an exhilarating programme of Messiaen, Chopin, Pärt, Rzewski, Enescu and Prokofiev.

Daniel is – quite simply – one of the most wonderful pianists around. I have witnessed him play several times and he never, ever, fails to utterly beguile... in a league of his own.”
