Venue: Beijing Language and Culture University, ICR Beijing headquarters
Participants: Second-year Chinese students majoring in Romanian-French at the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU)
In collaboration with the Beijing Language and Culture University, ICR Beijing offers two Romanian language courses (a speaking course and a Romanian civilization and culture course) to second-year students in the foreign language department majoring in Romanian/French.
The two courses are led by the ICR Beijing Project Coordinator, Andreea-Ema Stoian, Ph.D., with online participation from other Romanian language teachers in the country. The courses will be held both in the classroom and at the ICR Beijing headquarters. Students will have access to the ICR Beijing Library as well as other free teaching materials (Romanian films, documentaries, music, online pronunciation and diction courses, twinning with Chinese students learning Romanian, etc.).
This project is aimed at Chinese students in particular and wishes to encourage young people to study Romanian language and literature. It is a partnership that is intended to be expanded to other universities in the P.R. China where Romanian is already being studied (Shanghai, Xiamen, Tianjin, etc.).
Main objectives:
- Encouraging the study of Romanian language and literature among Chinese youth;
- Offering authentic preparation on Romanian civilization and culture.
- Organize a Romanian Language Olympiad - "Bridge of Friendship," with all Chinese students studying Romanian language in China.
