Romanian artist in the international exhibition Stanislav Libenský Award 2015

The international exhibition of glass art Stanislav Libenský Award 2015 is open for the public from October 21, 2015 to January 3, 2016 at ZIBA Prague Glass Experience Museum. It is the most prestigious event of the kind in the Czech Republic, and this year, it is organized under the auspices of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague. Romania will be represented by Neagu-Cogălniceanu Camelia, graduate of the Gheorghe Asachi University in Iași, who will exhibit the work titled "Fragile identity?".

"Fragile identity?" is a symbolic interrogation meant to incite our perception of the particular everyday situations that apparently require us to apply practical solutions using existing resources and thus, transcendentally, reflect on exploitable potential in each of us.

The gala evening, within the framework of which the winners of the Stanislav Libenský Award will be announced, takes place on October 20, at 6 p.m. The event will be followed by the official opening of the exhibition at 7 p.m. RCI in Prague will be represented by Mr. Ionut-Petre Munteanu, director.

Entrance by invitation only.

Stanislav Libenský Award is named after one of the most important Czech glass artists whose works, created in collaboration with Jaroslava Brychtová, are exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide. This award was established in 2009 and since then, a professional jury annually selects the prospective exhibitors based on their applications. The competition serves as the international platform for presenting young artists in the field, and aims to bring together various approaches and methods used in this kind of artistic craft.

The grand prize is a three-week excursion to the Pilchuck Glass School of Art in the United States.
